Senate Approves Funds for Civics Education Law

Senator Moore announced that the Massachusetts Senate unanimously approved $1.5 million in funding for the newly-created Civics Project Trust Fund. The Trust Fund will be utilized for implementation of the 2018 Civics Education Law.

Senate Passes Local Infrastructure Funding Bill

Senator Moore announced that the Senate passed the so-called “Chapter 90” bond bill to fund local road and bridge repairs, and to continue the legislature’s ongoing commitment to invest in local communities. The bill will provide $200 million in Fiscal Year 2020 for municipal infrastructure improvements across the Commonwealth.

Moore to Serve on Disaster Mitigation and Recovery Steering Committee

Senator Moore and Representative Hannah E. Kane (R-Shrewsbury) have introduced a bill aimed at tackling the illicit market for marijuana in Massachusetts—recently estimated as nearly 75 percent of all marijuana sales across the Commonwealth—while creating new revenues to reinvest in meaningful social equity, youth consumption prevention, law enforcement training and drugged driving detection.

Blackstone Valley Legislators Advocate for Voc. Tech. Funding

Sen. Moore Takes Action to Address MBTA Fare Proposal Process

In response to concerns about the recent community meeting held at Union Station in Worcester by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), Senator Moore filed two amendments to the Fiscal Year 2019 supplemental budget debated by the Senate.  The amendments seek to address issues relative to the public hearing process for increasing MBTA fares, and widespread concerns regarding fare evasion throughout the public transit system.
