Senator Moore and Representative Paul K. Frost (R-Auburn) welcomed the family and colleagues of fallen Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino, Jr. to the State House for the Trooper George L. Hanna Memorial Awards for Bravery ceremony.  Officer Tarentino was selected by a nominating committee for the highest level of recognition—the Medal of Honor.

Senate Releases ‘MassMoves’ Report

Sen. Moore announced that the Senate released a report highlighting residents’ priorities for a forward-thinking 21st century vision for the Commonwealth’s transportation system.  The Senate launched the so-called “MassMoves” initiative as part of the Commonwealth Conversations Tour to collect feedback from residents to help envision a better transportation system across Massachusetts.

Senator Moore recently sponsored an ice cream social at the Shrewsbury Senior Center.  In an effort to stay cool from the warm August temperatures, local seniors stopped by to enjoy ice cream and conversation at the free annual event.

Senator Moore recently attended the annual luau celebration at CareOne at Millbury.  The event brings together residents of CareOne, staff and their families.  Other attendees included Town Manager David Marciello, Selectmen Francis King and Mary Krumsiek, former Selectman Joe Coggans, and Worcester County Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis.

Solving the Alzheimer’s Puzzle

Moore-Sponsored Bill to Decriminalize Minor Offenses Gets Thumbs-Up

The Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government recently issued a favorable recommendation for legislation relative to the decriminalization of minor offenses.  The bill, presented by Senator Moore, would permit law enforcement officers to issue on-site citations for certain minor offenses rather than to pursue a criminal complaint in court.

Legislation filed by Senator Moore would officially recognize the month of May as “Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.”   After receiving a favorable report by the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight, the bill recently received unanimous approval in the Senate.
