GRAFTON – Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) recently sponsored a strawberry shortcake social for senior residents of Grafton.  The event, which was free and open to senior citizens in the community, drew more than a dozen local residents to the Senior Center for a sweet treat and conversation.

“I always enjoy sponsoring these types of events each year.  It’s great to sit down with folks to get the scoop about what issues are most important to them,” said Senator Moore.  “Engaging with constituents at these types of events is a great way to learn more about problems faced by those in our community.”

Senator Moore was joined by Grafton native Jack Kelley who graduated from Grafton High School in 2017.  Jack, who is a member of the Grafton Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and is involved with Grafton Community Television, helped serve local residents at the event.

“There are many things that Jack Kelley could be doing on a warm summer day,” said Senator Moore.  “Instead of a trip to the beach, he chose to help give back by volunteering at yesterday's event I sponsored at the Grafton Senior Center.  Thanks to Jack for his service and participation.  It’s always fantastic to see youth engagement in our community.”
