An Act concerning sexual violence on higher education campuses

  • Establishes state-level policies for all higher education institutions in the Commonwealth

  • Ensures that fair procedures and appropriate services are in place at higher education institutions across Massachusetts for both the reporting party and the accused

  • Provides tools and training to our higher education institutions to help prevent sexual assault on college campuses

VIEW BILL

An Act to establish a registry of caretakers found to have substantiated abuse against persons with intellectual or developmental disability

  • Requires the Disabled Persons Protection Commission to establish and maintain a Massachusetts Registry of Abusers of Persons with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and prohibits the Department of Developmental Services or an employer from utilizing the services of a person whose name appears on the registry.

An Act further regulating the enforcement of, illegal hunting practices

  • Updates poaching laws, fines and penalties, as well as requiring national reciprocity, where a violation of fish/game law in another state requires loss of that privilege in Massachusetts.

State Police Oversight

  • Ensures the State Police institute best practices for training, discipline, use of force, emergency planning, communications, and operations by requiring the department achieve accreditation or certification from a recognized accrediting agency; the independent internal audit unit, also created in the FY19 budget, will monitor compliance of this requirement.

An Act relative to critical incident intervention by emergency service providers

  • Requires that information divulged to a critical incident stress management team member during the provision of critical incident stress management team and crisis intervention services be kept confidential, except under certain limited circumstances
