Sen. Moore Highlights Availability of State House Tours

June 9, 2017 Senator Michael Moore

BOSTON – With summer around the corner, and with the promise of warmer temperatures, Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) encourages area residents to take advantage of free tours of the Massachusetts State House.  Tours are offered by the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office and are led by knowledgeable guides.

“The building is more than just the center of State Government, it’s a living museum,” said Senator Moore. “Tours include visits to the Great Hall of Flags, the State Library and many other historic areas of the building.”

Access to the President John F. Kennedy statue outside the front of the building, which had been barred since September 11, 2001, was restored in 2015 and is available for viewing through October.

Free tours are available weekdays from 10:00AM to 3:30PM and last approximately 30-45 minutes.  Those who are unable to visit the State House in person may access a virtual tour of the building on the Legislature’s website by clicking below.  To learn more, please feel free to visit the 'State House Tours' page by clicking the link below.
