Sen. Moore joined Treasurer Deborah Goldberg and members of the Financial Literacy Task Force to announce the release of the Task Force’s final report.  As Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education, Sen. Moore was appointed in April by Senate President Stan Rosenberg (D-Amherst) to serve on the Task Force as a member of the College Subcommittee. 

Sen. Moore announced that the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Security advanced legislation that would halt, at least temporarily, the slated closure of the C-3 State Police barracks in Brookfield.

Sen. Moore and Rep. Kane announced that the Senate and House of Representatives enacted legislation that would exempt the newly-created Shrewsbury Deputy Fire Chief position from Civil Service.     

Sen. Moore sponsors an annual Turkey Dinner at the Upton Senior Center to bring the Thanksgiving Holiday to local residents one plate at a time. 

Sen. Moore voted in favor of legislation passed by the Senate to address the unregulated practice of exchanging an adopted child, also called “re-homing.” Re-homing occurs when an adoptive parent, who feels they can no longer care for the child, posts an advertisement on the internet to pass the child on to another without any oversight.

Sen. Moore attended the AAA Northeast Traffic Safety Awards luncheon held in Worcester to honor the Grafton Police Department and Officer Robert Collette for his distinguished service and commitment to traffic safety.  

Sen. Moore, along with other members of the Worcester Legislative Delegation, attended a graduation ceremony for trainees who participated in the six-week Skillsbuild Pre-Apprentice Program sponsored by the Massachusetts AFL-CIO at the New England Laborers’ Training Academy.

Sen. Moore announced that the Foundation Budget Review Commission recently issued its final report detailing recommendations on updating foundation budget formulas for public education.

Following the discovery of additional hazardous waste materials on property recently purchased by the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), Senator Moore and Representative Donahue submitted a letter to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requesting that a proper Notice of Responsibility be issued for decontaminating the property, which is estimated to cost over $3 million.

Sen. Moore joined legislative colleagues and advocates in expressing support for legislation that would require insurance companies in Massachusetts to offer coverage for Lyme disease treatment.

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) applauds the unanimous passage of a resolution filed by Sen. Moore supporting the Massachusetts/Israel relationship and rejecting efforts to isolate and target Israel.

Sen. Moore joined residents in applauding part of the recent rulings by the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Sen. Moore announced that the Massachusetts Senate passed legislation that provide workers with greater wage and labor protections by ensuring compensation for injuries resulting on the job.  

Sen. Moore announced that the Legislature unanimously adopted a resolution to encourage equitable and diverse gender representation on boards of companies in the Commonwealth. 

Sen. Moore released the dates, times and locations of local office hours being held in the months of November and December.
